Shaw-cum-Donnington is situated to the north of Newbury town centre. It has convenient access to Junction 13 of the M4, and is also served by major roads including the A4, A34 and A339.
Newbury railway station is just 1-2 miles away. Newbury is on the London Paddington-West Country (Devon/Cornwall) main line. There is a regular service into London Paddington, with journey times of less than an hour.
Shaw-cum-Donnington is served by a number of bus routes from Newbury town centre, including 107 (to Brightwalton/Wantage), 6 and 9 (to Didcot), 99 (to Pangbourne/Reading) and 15 (circular from the town centre). Routes 10, 11, 11A and 12 to Thatcham pass through the south-eastern corner of the parish.
The Kennet & Avon Canal passes through the centre of Newbury. A short walk north through the town brings you to Shaw-cum-Donnington.
