The Lych Gate will be decorated with Palm Leaves from Palm Sunday onwards (28th March) and there will be a mini procession into church before the 10am service.
There will be a Cross in the Churchyard from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday. Visitors will be invited to write a prayer or a message on a card and tie it to the cross.
The church will be open to visitors from 10am to 2pm on Maundy Thursday (1st April), Good Friday (2nd April) and Saturday (3rd April). Volunteers will be there to welcome visitors, give them the information leaflet and talk about the Easter story.
On Maundy Thursday there will be a Last Supper display in the alcove near the South Door.
From Good Friday onwards there will be a display of Easter Gardens in the alcove. We have invited children from Shaw-cum-Donnington School to make a garden and bring it along to add to the display. If any other adults or children would like to make a garden and bring it as well, they would be most welcome. There are lots of images online if you need any inspiration. Mini displays of plants, crosses, a tomb, a stone, angels etc.
A Crown of Thorns will be added to the churchyard cross on this day.
On Easter Sunday the Palm Leaves on the Lych Gate will be replaced with a flower display in preparation for the 10am Service.
